Arita Ware Hand-Painted Peony Vase

฿4,400.00

A hand-painted Arita ware vase rooted in one of Japan’s most celebrated ceramic traditions, established in the Edo period (17th century).

Decorated using the classic blue-and-polychrome technique (青花加彩), underglaze blue outlines are combined with red and green overglaze enamels through a second firing. The peony motif (botan) symbolizes prosperity and good fortune in East Asian culture.

Crafted from high-fired white porcelain, the vase features a smooth, luminous surface and a balanced form with a narrow mouth and rounded body, making it suitable for floral arrangements or elegant display.

The base bears the mark 「安古水峯」, identifying it as a signed work from an Arita kiln.

Produced in the early Heisei period (c.1980–1990), this piece is 30–40 years old, in excellent condition with its original wooden box, and exists as a single collectible example.
