A hand-painted Arita ware vase showcasing the prestigious Kinrande (金襕手) technique, one of the highest forms of Japanese ceramic decoration developed in the Edo period (17th century) and historically associated with courtly and aristocratic use.
The Kinrande technique features a gold-infused ground, created by mixing gold powder into the glaze and firing at temperatures up to 1,300°C, producing a smooth, luminous surface of exceptional durability. Over this golden field, delicate motifs of birds and leaves are painted by hand using mineral pigments and fine gold lines.
The hizuidori bird symbolizes longevity and prosperity, while the paulownia leaf represents family growth and good fortune—together conveying auspicious meaning deeply rooted in East Asian culture.
Finished with a 24K gold-rimmed mouth and formed in a balanced, rounded silhouette, the vase is suitable for floral arrangements or refined interior display.
Produced in the early Heisei period (c.1980–1990), this piece is 30–40 years old, preserved in excellent condition with clear gold detailing and its original wooden box. Only one piece is available, enhancing its collectible value.
