A finely crafted Arita ware tea set in the Imari style, representing one of Japan’s most celebrated export porcelain traditions, developed in the Edo period (17th century) and highly prized in Europe for over 300 years.
The set is decorated using the classic Kinji (brocade-ground) technique, in which intricate gold patterns cover the surface and are complemented by hand-painted red, blue, and green enamels, followed by a second firing. The motifs of birds and flowers—including phoenix, peony, and chrysanthemum—symbolize prosperity, longevity, and happiness in East Asian culture.
Crafted from high-quality white porcelain, the surfaces are smooth, luminous, and durable. The teapot and cups feature classic, well-balanced forms, designed to sit comfortably in the hand and suitable for both tea and coffee service.
Produced in the mid-Showa period (c.1950–1970), this set is now 50–70 years old, preserved in excellent condition with vivid gold decoration and its original wooden box. Only one complete set is available, making it especially desirable for collectors.
