Kutani Ware Aka-e Kinrande Pair of Vases

฿3,900.00

A rare pair of Kutani ware vases decorated in the prestigious Aka-e Kinrande (赤绘金襕手) style, a high-level ceramic technique developed in the late Meiji period for export to Europe and admired by Western aristocracy.

The vases feature a rich vermilion red ground lavishly adorned with gold decoration, combined with hand-painted floral and figural panels. In East Asian symbolism, the paired form represents harmony, completeness, and good fortune. Floral motifs signify prosperity and abundance, while the figural scenes convey peace and contentment in daily life.

Each vase is entirely hand-painted, with mineral pigments in green and blue accented by fine gold lines. The compact, well-balanced form makes the pair ideal for symmetrical display, whether used for flowers or as decorative objects.

Produced between circa 1900–1920, these vases are now 100–120 years old, preserved in excellent condition with vivid colors, intact gold detailing, and their original wooden box. Complete pairs from this period are exceptionally rare, greatly enhancing their collectible value.
